Another week of eating at home, but our weekend was spent in Markham, where we visited the Night It Up market, ate some sushi, and snacked on some yummy soft serve.
I’m obsessed with making tons of Hokkaido milk bread this week. Read on to see three batches baked three ways: traditional recipe, vegan, and hand-kneaded.
My love affair with the stand mixer continues so there’s a lot of bread in this post. We also ate out three times this week: at the Bauer Kitchen, Mr Yin’s, and Ennio’s Pasta House.
Back to the daily grind this week, but I’m happy I can go back to cooking new foods and trying recipes after a short break! Now that my mixer has arrived, I’ve broken it in by baking some hot dog and hamburger buns.
On Thursday, we traveled to Quebec’s largest city for a weekend getaway, and had our fill of delicious, unhealthy, ultra-rich Montreal food. I hope you like reading about it as much as we loved eating it.
I’m happy to say I didn’t generate any food waste this week. I’m getting better at using up leftovers in my fridge, and it’s probably because cooking for two people is easier than for one, even if I have to make separate meals a lot of the time.
The goal of these posts is to keep an accurate log of what I eat every day, even when those meals may not be particularly glamorous. That’s the case for this week’s food diary.
